The IP cameras that are used in the HD
IP security camera of CCTV are usually connected to the Network Video Recorder
(NVR), and this itself is connected to a network. Hence, in some circumstances,
it is advisable to connect the camera directly into the network.
The Best HD IP NVR Systems sold by the
HD IP NVR Suppliers are those NVR that is
connected to external WAN via a router with DHCP enabled the NVR is assigned an
IP address within the same subnet as the router. For example, if the local IP
address of the router is 192.168.0.1,
then the HD IP NVR System attached will be assigned a unique address of
192.168.0.xxx, where xxx is a number between 002 and 255.
The Hikvision IP cameras are connected
directly to the Hikvision NVR with plug and play, and thus it will be
automatically assigned an IP address when it is connected to the NVR. However,
the IP address will not be in the same subnet as it was when connected to
external WAN. The IP address assigned could be similar to 192.168.254.2,
192.168.254.3….. 192.168.254.n, where n=the number of channels in the NVR. The
IP address assigned is fine for the HD
IP Security Camera System and are connected to the NVR but it will
not at all work for cameras connected directly to the router. The IP address of the camera will then needs to be changed
to match the subnet of the router. Further, for the Hikvision cameras, the IP address can be amended by using
the SADP software which is supplied with the Hikvision cameras.
How can you add the camera to the NVR?
For adding the camera to the available channel on the NVR, following steps
needs to be taken:
·
Log
into the NVR
·
Select
the main menu and then select the cameras. All the channels will be listed on
the NVR and also the list of channels that are in use.
·
You
need to select the unused channel and click on edit.
·
Change
the plug and play mode to manual.
·
Then
change the IP address to the new IP address of the camera – for example,
192.168.0.49.
·
Then
enter the password of NVR in the required field.
·
Finally,
click OK and the camera should connect to the NVR and be visible.
Thus, when you Buy
HD IP NVR System, look at all
the features and functions of the camera along with checking of the IP address
and compatibility with the NVR.
